Ongoing climate change poses severe risks to food security through compound abiotic hazards such as droughts and heatwaves. At the same time, slow-onset processes drive shifts in biotic hazards, leading to new occurrences of invasive pests, plant diseases, and weed species in agricultural systems.
This webinar presents an integrated service connecting the AgroRisk.cz portal to the IRISCC service portfolio. By synthesizing data from long-term observational platforms (ICOS, eLTER), controlled climate manipulation experiments (AnaEE), and airborne or satellite remote sensing, this platform models interactions between multiple risk factors.
Supplemented with new parameters and models combining biotic and abiotic risks, the platform has been validated for the Czech Republic and tested across Finland, Austria, and Slovakia. It provides a transferable solution for 5 to 10 day agricultural weather forecasts and offers validation protocols when specific biotic threats occur.
