Virtual Access to Digital Services

Access IRISCC Digital Services Online—Data, Tools, Models, and Virtual Research Environments

IRISCC offers virtual access to Europe’s leading climate-risk research infrastructures, enabling researchers, policymakers, and industry professionals to use digital services—including datasets, analytical tools, models, and virtual research environments (VREs)—without travelling. Access services are provided free-of-charge, with registration required for monitoring usage and providing support.

Access is free of charge without any application, though registration is required to manage usage and collect feedback.

IRISCC Virtual Access allows you to:

  • Access real-time and historical climate and environmental data, including aerosols, greenhouse gases, soil moisture, snow cover, and other climate variables.
  • Explore and visualise data through interactive dashboards, plotting tools, and quicklook interfaces.
  • Run model simulations, analytical workflows, or Jupyter notebooks to assess climate impacts such as floods, heatwaves, or air pollution.
  • Combine datasets across infrastructures for cross-domain research and innovative applications.

Examples of Services include:

  • Visualising aerosol concentrations to detect pollution episodes or climate extremes.

  • Analysing greenhouse gas transport using flight-path observations.

  • Accessing climate model outputs for downscaling, regridding, and scenario analysis.

  • Running interactive tools to simulate storm surges, sea-level rise, or drought impacts.

Demonstrators and co-designed Knowledge Services integrating multi-RI datasets, e.g., coastal flooding risk, ecosystem health, or air pollution impacts will come later in the project.
