This deliverable presents the methodology for establishing a federated Authentication and Authorisation Infrastructure (AAI) for the IRISCC and report on the activities carried out to achieve it. The selected AAI solution enables users to access a wide range of services using a single account, improving both user experience and operational efficiency.
Additionally, building on the experiences of the ENVRI initiatives and other relevant European Open Science Cloud (EOSC) projects, the AAI framework provides best practice examples and guidance for Research Infrastructures (RIs) and national service providers managing virtual and remote access.
The report includes a landscape analysis of AAI services across RIs in the IRISCC and their alignment with the federated EOSC AAI. It also covers the development of a “cookbook” to support the integration of RIs not yet connected and describes ongoing collaboration with selected RIs to implement the federated AAI service where appropriate.
The EGI Check-In infrastructure has been selected as the integration platform, enabling interoperability between IRISCC RIs, their institutional users, and services offered within EOSC communities. A total of 20 RIs or installations have been analysed based on their AAI capabilities and AAI maturity.
