This D4.4. Describes the IRISCC Demonstrator #2 functionalities. Demonstrator #2 developes an online service for coastal flood risk assessment linked to storm surge and sea level rise effects and includes tools for assessing associated impacts and adaptation scenarios.
The service is implemented as interactive Jupyter/Solara workflows, provides a pre-build computational environment, and combines three modules: a Delft3D FM storm surge component, the SFINCS coastal flooding model, and the FIAT flood-impact assessment tool. Demonstrator #2 provides separate widgets for the three modules and a combined demonstrator widget, with documentation for use at D4Science platform or locally on user’s machine.
The demonstrator is exposed through the D4Science IRISCC VLab environment through a Coastal Flood Risk Analysis Virtual Research Environment at D4Science gateway. The Demonstrator #2 design allows for use of custom modelling components and their integration rather than a single fixed operational dataset. The default data catalogue for the easy use is provided via Demonstrator #2 repository.
The service is intended to reduce the effort required to configure, run and analyse multi-step coastal flood risk modelling workflows and to support scenario comparison. At the time of this report, Demonstrator #2 is validated for the use case of the flood in Humber estuary, UK, in 2013, but does not claim that all planned datasets, models, workflows or service features are fully mature for all regions.
