Tackling Climate Risks

We are pleased to announce the launch of its Catalogue of Research Infrastructure Services and the First Open Call for Access to these services. This initiative provides researchers, policymakers, and other stakeholders with access to state-of-the-art facilities, installations, tools and resources aimed at addressing critical climate risks. 

Empowering Climate Change Research and Actions 

The IRISCC Catalogue offers a comprehensive range of climate research services from leading European research infrastructures (RIs). These services provide access to environmental, social science, and digital infrastructures and through them, to critical data repositories, observational platforms and installations, as well as to modelling tools. All these services are designed to address risks caused by climate change such as floods, droughts, heatwaves, and extreme weather events. The catalogue will expand over time through another two service releases: one delivering integrated and customised services for tackling multi-hazard climate risks, and the second focusing on co-designed knowledge services to support evidence-based decision-making for climate risk adaptation and mitigation. 

The First Open Call for Access 

The First Open Call for Access enables eligible researchers, industry professionals, and other users to apply for sponsored access to IRISCC's research infrastructures and their services available in the IRISCC Catalogue of Services. These resources are available to support innovative climate risk research and the development of practical solutions for climate change mitigation and adaptation. 

Successful applicants will be able to leverage services from 93 providers offering cutting-edge monitoring, experimental and observational facilities, advanced climate modelling tools, and integrated data services, all funded by IRISCC. This call aims to facilitate research projects that require access to these state-of-the-art resources and enable cross-border collaboration across Europe. 

By offering sponsored access to these advanced services, the call will help accelerate research efforts in areas such as ecosystem resilience, climate-driven health risks, water management, and sustainable food systems.
